Kolmanskop is a former diamond mining town and now stands abandoned in the middle of the Namibian desert.

The collection is part of a project named Desertopia and aims to tell a story through photographic journalism of places that have been abandoned. Places that once thrived with human activities and are now deserted. Some external force, political, economical, belligerent or natural, interrupted the life of these constructed places, the dream failed and the hopes withered. The common theme of the project is abandonment and desertion of the human endeavor.
